Think About You

??

Think about you.

You said that, think about me?

You know I did.

Really?? That’s kind of selfish isn’t it?

No, it’s sensible. If you don’t think you’re supposed to love yourself, what do you think this means, “Love your neighbour as yourself”?

Ok, so ‘think about me’, how do you mean?

Think about you.

Think about what about me?

Good thoughts.

What sort of good thoughts?

What are you always wanting, always striving for? Imagine that. Imagine it coming in abundance, more of it than you can possibly cope with or use. Picture it coming in great, uncontrollable waves. Imagine that! Picture it. Actually savour it.

I find it jolly hard to picture it, sorry, but my mind doesn’t seem able, except in in very short glimpses.

Of course! It’s hard. That’s because it’s contrary to your true expectations. That can change though, dramatically.

How?

Practise. That’s all there is to it, honestly, that’s the only difference between you and someone who has mastered it. Practise. Here’s what you do:- Once a day, minimum, think about you – imagine the things you strive for, the things you want, actually being yours. Picture them coming to you.

You’ll get better at it, a lot better, if you practise.

You talk about it as though it were a skill?

Yes, because it is. An incredibly important skill. It takes practise – ‘Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours!’ Now, tell me the truth, is that your experience?

Well, no, not really?

Of course not, it takes practise. Belief (in anything) isn’t easy. It requires a mind shift. Mind shifts take time, practise and discipline. What makes them possible is DESIRE. Without the desire for the end result you’ll soon give up.

So, should I practise picturing the things I strive for and desire…

Do you truly desire them?

Well, I thought I did, but the outcome so far suggests maybe not?

Don’t beat yourself up. Some people are first half players, some are second. Stir up the desire within you.

But doesn’t it say that you stir it up, not us? The desire I mean?

Yes, but you need to stir too. A lot.

Alright, ok, I’ll work on that, on stirring up the desire.

Good, I’ll help, and yes, in answer to your question, you should practise picturing the things you strive for…

Picture them coming, the stages immediately before and during those things arriving in my life?

Yes, of course, and also picture them having been in your life for a long time. Imagine that too. Imagine your life after those things have been in your life in uncontrollable over-abundance, for a good long period of time. Picture what your life is going to be like, picture it as though it has become so much a part of your life that you take it for granted.

The things I strive for and desire?

Yes. You are already drawing those things to you, you’ve seen it, but what you see is just the very beginning, just the whiff of those things being a reality that defines you.

So, thinking about the early stages, picturing those things just starting to come into my life. Why is that bit important?

Because nothing is suddenly true, a thing takes place over time, and you know that in your mind and in your senses, so picturing those first stages, which you understand intuitively must happen first, will make belief easier for you, and belief, above all else, is the key.

Practise isn’t the key, practise is what you need to do to make the key work for you. Belief is the key. Desire is the engine that drives you to practise imagining the things you desire, belief is the power that brings those things to you.
