Enjoy Yourself!
So, any advice about today?
Enjoy yourself.
You’re saying something about that phrase, aren’t you, something about ‘enjoying me’, something about enjoying being me?
Yes, I am. You have a lot to learn about that, a lot, but if you stick with me, I’ll teach you. If you don’t enjoy yourself, if you don’t enjoy being you, revel in being you and where you fit in the world – if you don’t thrive on being alive, if you don’t love your dreams and aspirations and the fact that you can change the world around you, you will never truly love yourself. And if you don’t love yourself, you can’t properly love anyone else.
That’s hard.
Yes, of course it is. You need a complete reset in the way you’ve been taught to think. Religion has convinced you that enjoyment is dangerous, that it’s not all about you. But I can tell you that from my perspective it is, it’s absolutely all about you, and I have a slightly better perspective of reality than Religion does. He is a master twister of the truth, whereas I am truth.
If you don’t love yourself, really and truly love being you, you will have much less to give. As a result, the part of you that you give to me and to others will be second rate, a worthless, empty, religious thing that not even you love. When you don’t love yourself, it makes it hard for others to do so too.
And, on a final note, until being you brings you a deep, feel-it-in-your-gut enjoyment you don’t love being you. Sorry if that offends you, but it’s a fact.
If you don’t love being you, you don’t love you. And if that’s the case then no matter how much you try, you won’t be able to love the people around you, it’ll just be empty duty and not really love at all. And if you can’t love the people around you, then one of the most important things in the world went right out the window.
